Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly tag hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Check out the link for a list of upcoming prompts, and join us in the fun!
Today’s prompt was supposed to be “Bookish Discoveries I Made in 2019”, but the biggest discovery I made last year was that I am not great at sticking to a planned TBR. Like, at all. So here we are!
Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin
I picked this up and put it down more often than a bro at the gym in the free weights section. I’ll probably get to it eventually.
The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh
I keep forgetting that I actually own this. Seriously, I’ve had it since it arrived in the October FairyLoot box, and it just sits on my TBR cart all patiently.
Once a King by Erin Summerill
I loved Ever the Hunted and Ever the Brave, yet this has been sitting on my TBR since it came out.
All the Wandering Light by Heather Fawcett
Yet another sequel I was excited for and then never took off my shelf.
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Everyone says such great things about this series…
Dark Age by Pierce Brown
I definitely planned to read this, prepped by reading 1-4, got a serious book hangover, which turned into a total slump, and never came back. SOON!
Two Dark Reigns and Five Dark Fates by Kendare Blake
“I’ll just wait for the sequel to come out and then read them both.” Famous last words.
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
I was all jazzed for this, and then life happened. So, yeah.
Sword and Pen by Rachel Caine
Another book I really want to get to, but somehow haven’t. I blame wanting to reread the series but being daunted by reading 5 books.
Great list! I still need to get to Ninth House and Serpent & Dove, too – you’re not alone! – and one of these days I need to give The Great Library series a go.

I highly recommend getting to the Three Dark Crowns series soon. It’s finished now and it’s fantastic.

This whole post feels like a mood to me, because that pretty much sums up my 2019. xD I’ve been meaning to finish the Great Library series forever now. I’ve only read book one. I swear, I will finish reading it this year. For real. I need to pick up Ninth House, too! So many good books, so little time to read them all.
Here’s my TTT post.

The Beautiful definitely looks really good, I want to try that author. and I NEED to read the last Blake book now that it’s out! I love that series but I haven’t gotten to the new book yet and it’s bugging me haha!

Haha, this post sums up my reading year – I was so bad about reading new releases! Ninth House was one of the ones I was very excited about, as well, but I haven’t gotten around to even placing it on hold at the library. Whoops.

Ooh! Read Serpent & Dove, it’s really good! I’m also keen for Ninth House, just waiting for my library to order it in š

I do the same thing with books, and 2019 was worse than usual. You’re not alone there.

Ha ha ha, my intentions for 2019 and my reality definitely did not match up when it comes to my TBR list! The nice thing is, you can still read them all in 2020! š
