Anticipation: the Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?
I have so many books preordered right now, but the one I am most excited for is Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare! I ADORE the Shadowhunter books, and this one has the most GORGEOUS cover I have ever seen.
Christmas Songs & Carols: what book or author can you not help but sing praises for?
Laini Taylor! If you love vividly written books with lots of beautiful prose, then she is the author for you! I first read Daughter of Smoke and Bone in March of 2017, and then immediately purchased the rest of the trilogy and binged it. I even broke my personal rule, and got one book in hardcover and one in paperback (I hate unmatched sets) because I needed them NOW and that was all that was available.
Gingerbread Houses: what book or series has wonderful world building?
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. This book is SO atmospheric and the circus itself is so vividly developed that it is very much a character of it’s own!
A Christmas Carol: favorite classic or one that you want to read
The Redwall Books by Brian Jacques. I adore all of these books and am thoroughly enjoying revisiting them through Audible!
Christmas Sweets: what book would you love to receive for Christmas?
The Pride and Prejudice cookbook! This is a fully unabridged edition of P&P, interspersed with recipes from Martha Stewart, and peppered with delightful pictures!!! WANT!
Candles in the Window: what book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling?
Emily of New Moon by L.M. Montgomery. I love Anne of Green Gables, but the Emily trilogy has always held a slightly bigger spot in my heart! Emily is an aspiring writer, and a wonderful main character. Plus the love story that threads through the book is perfection! I definitely cry every time.
Christmas Trees & Decorations: what are some of your favorite book covers?
SO MANY!!! Here is a small sampling!
Christmas Joy: what are some of your favorite things about Christmas And/Or some of your favorite Christmas memories?
I just love spending time with family, seeing everyone open the gifts I have picked for them (I LOOOVE giving presents), and eating tasty holiday foodies! I also love driving around with my husband looking at all the decorations people put out!
