Stacking the Shelves – December 7, 2019

STSsmall

It’s time yet again for the Stacking the Shelves meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality! This meme is all about sharing your most recent bookish purchases, be they physical books, audiobooks, or eBook! Since I have a BIT of a “one-click” problem, I thought this would be a great way to keep track of my newest books AND share them with everyone else! I’m not sure what I’ll talk about on the weeks I don’t have anything new, but we can cross that bridge if we ever come to it! Not an issue this week, so let’s have at it!

Reverie by Ryan La Sala

I have had this book on pre-order for AGES, and I owe it all to the glorious Twitter presence of the author, Ryan La Sala. If this book is even half as fabulous as he is, we are in for something amazing!

The PLAIN Janes by Cecil Castellucci & Jim Rugg

The Plain Janes

I was sent an ARC of this book from The NOVL in exchange for a fair review. I love that each month, in their newsletter, The NOVL gives readers a chance to get an ARC of an upcoming book. I have gotten some awesome reads from this program, and am glad I keep getting chosen! I always try to write a timely review, so expect to see that soon for this fun graphic novel!

Wicked Saints by Emily A Duncan

Wicked Saints

I have the OwlCrate exclusive edition of this book (which I love both inside and out), but I saw this scratch-and-dent version at Books-A-Million the other day and snagged it for a great deal. Is has a slight mar on the back cover, but not noticeable at all unless you are looking for it!

The Forgotten Book by Mechthild Glaser

The Forgotten Book

Another book from the BAM Bargain Section, this was a total cover buy. I haven’t read The Book Jumper (same author) yet, but this is a standalone with a similar concept so I grabbed it. Ironically, considering the name, the Goodreads page for this is woefully incomplete, and there is only an image for the paperback. Considering I purchased a hardcover with the same cover, it’s odd that the Goodreads page is so blank!

A River of Royal Blood by Amanda Joy

A River of Royal Blood

So I put up the original cover to avoid full spoilers, but this was the November FairyLoot book…which arrived in December. The exclusive cover is just as pretty (think color variation), plus we have stained pages!

Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Toni Adeyemi

I haven been ready for this since finishing CoBaB, which means it will probably sit on my shelf for like eight months before I read it. Why am I this way?! But for reals, this cover though! Stunning!!!!

Six new books for my shelves this week! Not a bad haul, if I do say so myself! I have no pre-orders scheduled for next week, so we shall see what I end up acquiring.

What did you add to your shelves this week? Tell me in the comments below!

  1. I’ve seen “Wicked Saints” around SO many places, but haven’t really given it a second look. I’ll have to remedy this because it does LOOK interesting. Hope you enjoy all of your new reads!! 🙂
