It’s time for yet another Six for Sunday! This meme is hosted by Steph from A Little But a Lot, so be sure to check out the original post for details! This week’s theme is “I Wanna Snuggle with…” which is a little bit vague and forced me to get creative, but I think I have a good list pulled together, so let’s check it out.
Buruu from The Lotus War Trilogy by Jay Kristoff
Griffins have always been my favorite mythological creatures, and Jay one-upped them by introducing us to Arashitoras, aka Thunder Tigers, aka tiger/eagle chimeras that are basically griffins that can also command thunder and lightning. They are super badass and also amazing and Buruu is wonderful and I love him! I will also never forgive Jay for this series. If you thought all of his other books were heartbreaking, know that they don’t come close to his debut trilogy here. So good. So mean. The worst. xoxo.
A Niffler from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Nifflers are ADORABLE and fuzzy and snuggly and I just want to hold one and pet it’s little head. Not only are they cute as buttons, but they are also the sneakiest little tricksy thieves and that just somehow enhances the adorable factor by 73%. Don’t ask me how – I don’t make the rules.
Fun fact: my brother-in-law is a special FX artist and is the one who I help run the New England Witchcraft and Wizarding School with. Combine those two things together, and he has a whole line of awesome creatures and OMG his niffler is ADORABLE!! Does the creation process involve taking the faces off of cuddly teddy bears? Yes. But is the end result absolutely perfect? YES! Allow me to shamelessly put a link here so you can see for yourself and probably adopt one because, let’s be honest, a niffler pays for itself in no time. 😉
Church from the Shadowhunter universe by Cassandra Clare
This series really likes their cats, and Church shows up in every setting spanning the hundred plus years on the timeline. I mean, not only is he basically immortal somehow, but hes also adorable and fluffy and I want to snuggle his face! I am definitely a cat person. An honorable mention to Chairman Meow, Magnus’ party-worthy feline!
Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter series by JKR
Draco is my little broken boy and I want to take him home and fix him. If you’ve been following my blog and/or my instagram for any amount of time you will know that I am a huge Dramione shipper, so this pick should come as no surprise.
Now, it is worth noting that I am not talking so much about Canon Draco, and much more about the FanFiction/Alt Universe version of Draco where we actually get to see him redeem himself and realize the beliefs he was raised with are wrong. One of these days I will have to make a post about all the reasons I love Draco and why I ship him with Hermione, but for now just know that I love them and if you want some great FanFics featuring their story, hit me up!
Saphira from the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini
Yes, I know that a dragon isn’t inherently snuggly, and I also know that Saphira would probably at least pretend to take offense at the idea that someone would want to snuggle her, but I don’t care!
I have been loving my reread of this series this month, and revisiting the world of Alagaësia has reinforced that Saphira is absolutely my favorite dragon in literature. She’s fierce and loyal and brave and a little bit witty and she’s also my very favorite color, which is always a plus. If I could have a dragon of my own, I would choose her!
Rowan Whitethorn from the Throne of Glass series by SJM
So, in this instance, snuggle is really a euphemism for “I wanna climb him like a tree”. Tall, broody, muscular, tattooed, broody, secretly a softie, muscular, magical, loyal, abs. I mean, this male has it all. I would take him home in an instant (sorry hubby).
this is such a fascinating book tag!! I haven’t read any of these but harry potter and I definitely agree about draco!!
