I found this awesome tag over on Keep Reading Forward’s blog, and knew I had to take part! I recently did the Pancakes Book Tag, and felt like continuing the breakfast themed trend was the way to go. Not gonna lie, I definitely own 2 waffle makers and that should explain how much I love waffles.
“You’re better than waffles, Matthias Helvar.”
A small smile curled the Fjerdan’s lips. “Let’s not say things we don’t mean, my love.”

Belgian Waffles – Book That’s a Total Classic
I am going to have to go with Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen! I adore this classic (I blame the BBC miniseries starring Colin Firth) and actually collect different editions! I know that Austen tends to be a hit or miss for a lot of readers, but I just love her. P&P is the best of the best 😉
Whole Wheat Waffles – Book That’s Completely Wholesome
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. Another classic, this book is about as fabulously wholesome as it gets! Who doesn’t love our red-headed spitfire, Anne Shirley?!
Eggo Waffles – Book That Fills You With Nostalgia
Ooooh, this one is tough. I’d probably have to go with the Redwall books by Brian Jacques. Not the sort of nostalgia where it reminds me of my childhood (obv, since I wasn’t a woodland creature raised in an Abbey), but more that this series was so prevalent in my childhood that it always gives me the warm fuzzies. I have strong memories of being at Borders, Books, and Music (RIP) with my dad and always looking for the newest release from this series! Fortunately my dad supported my book addiction (his is just as strong), so I was always allowed to take it home!
Chocolate Waffles – Character That is Sugary Sweet
Elain Archeron from the ACOTAR series. She is just so sweet and good and nothing bad should ever have happened to her. Also, I ship Elazriel for life. I like Lucien fine, but Az is a cinnamon roll and deserves the world.
Blueberry Waffles – A Book That Makes You Feel Blue
Probably anything by Nicolas Sparks. His books are always so sad. I have actually started actively avoiding books that I know will just be depressing. Too many books to read to spend my time on those I *know* will make me feel down.
Waffle Cone – A Book That’s a Bit Different
The Illuminae Files by Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman. I mean, the format alone is all sorts of different. It actually took me a bit to get used to it – there is a learning curve for sure – but once I was in there was no going back! Even the audiobooks (BEST AUDIOBOOKS EVER) break the mold; they’re narrated by a full cast, with sound effects, and music!
Waffle Iron – Your Favorite Bookish Accessory
I’m not even sure what this question is asking? I mean, I do love a good bookish tote? I also have a messenger bag that *looks* like a book (I call it my Book Book Bag), so that’s a bookish accessory. Or do we mean an accessory for a book, like a bookmark? Because I adore Ink & Wonder’s woodmarks and have several dozen. This question is confusing.
Maple Syrup – A Series You Stuck With Until The End
I mean, the obvious answer here is Harry Potter. My favorite quote from the whole series is “Until the Very End”, so it’s fitting. Plus JKR has that same quote in the dedication for the book.
As for a non-HP choice (since these lists always seem to invoke HP at least once), I will have to go with the Throne of Glass series, which I adore with my whole heart.
[…] saw this really cool tag on Caitlin’s blog @ Caitlin Althea a while back and more recently on Megabunny and Emma’s blogs, and I thought it would be fun to complete! All of these wonderful graphics […]
