In my hunt for appropriately themed tags for this week, I found this one thanks to Lauren at Lala’s Book Reviews. Check out the original creator Pucks and Paperbacks and give him some credit for such an awesome tag!
Kit Kat Bar: An Anticipated Release (Break Me Off a Piece of That Kit Kat Bar)
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern. I. Can. Not. Wait. for this book!!! The Night Circus is one of my favorite reads, and one that I revisit every year. When it was announced that Erin would be releasing a new book after over a decade, I freaked the eff out! I am pretty sure I made some sort of high pitched noise of excitement while sitting at my desk, which definitely confused and/or scared my colleagues. Sorry not sorry.
Anyway, I definitely have several copies of this beauty on pre-order (I need ALL the editions, obv) AND I am super excited to be able to see Erin on tour in November! I will 100% be fangirling.
M&Ms: Book With a Colorful Cover
Warcross by Marie Lu. It’s so rainbow! I use this all the time when I need a rainbow book for an instagram post. It also helps that the book itself is pretty awesome, even if I did find the sequel to be lackluster.
Milky Way: Book That Makes You Feel All Gooey in the Middle.
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. This is one of my very favorite YA contemporaries, and it never fails to make me happy.
Sour Patch Kids: Book That Started Off Sour And Ended Up Being Sweet.
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. Could there ever be a greater hate-to-love romance than that of Simon and Baz? I think not! All you Drarry shippers out there better check out this awesome book, which will delight all of your fanfiction feels.
I actually super need to reread this so I can finally get to Wayward Son! I have had WS since release day, but didn’t want to dive in without visiting the first book! Let me just add this to my neverending TBR and neverending to-do list. Welcome to life as a bookstagrammer/blogger.
Sugar Babies: An Underrated Book or Character
Eragon by Christopher Paolini. Okay, okay, hear me out on this one. I KNOW it was a NYT Best Seller, and I KNOW it has a pretty decent following, BUT I feel like the terrible movie adaptation killed it, and it’s not nearly as appreciated as it should be. I am still waiting for them to make a GOOD film adaptation, or even a TV show. C’mon Netflix, you got this!
Hershey Kiss: Your Favorite First Kiss!
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by JK Rowling. Since I haven’t talked about Harry Potter yet in this post, and I can’t let that pass, I will have to choose Harry and Ginny’s first kiss!! NOT the version from the movie (which was fine, but not nearly as awesome), but the book version where they just randomly start kissing in the middle of the Gryffindor Common Room after having won the Quidditch Cup. It was SUCH a Gryffindor moment, and I live for it! Plus, I ship them forever, so there’s that.
Also, how awesome is this Signature Edition? I actually have these in paperback, although I’d love to have them in hardcover too! It is basically my life goal to have any and every edition of this series that I can get my hands on. Its a labor of love.
Favorite Book to Read During Halloween Time?
I don’t really have any favorites that I need to read during Spooky Season! I think this is in part because I don’t do horror as a genre, and also in part because I am a super mood reader. Usually I am just trying to read anything and everything to help reach my reading goal for the year, since October marks the last quarter of the year!
Thanks for doing my tag! My pronouns are actually he/him 🙂 and I agree with your choice for Carry On!
