I came across this book tag thanks to Lauren from Lala’s Book Reviews, and knew I needed to give it a try! I love a good book tag, but never know where to find them. Thankfully Lauren is a great resource for those. 😉 If you aren’t following her, do so now! Her blog is full of awesome bookish content!
ANYWAY, let’s cut to the chase here and get on with the questions!
Hot Chocolate – what is your comfort book?
I don’t know if I have a comfort book so much as a comfort genre. When I am in need of something to cure a book hangover, break a reading slump, or just to let my brain defrag, I turn to contemporary YA and romance!
Pumpkin Carving – what is your favorite creative outlet?
I am not super crafty, to be honest. I don’t draw, I don’t sew, I don’t crochet or knit or carve things from wood. I suppose we can say that wandering the aisles of JoAnn Fabrics and Michaels are my creative outlets 😉
Falling Leaves – changes that appear bad but you secretly love?
Hmmm…book to movie/TV adaptations. I mean, there are definitely some that are REALLY bad (I’m looking at you Eragon movie), but I love seeing the characters from my books come alive on screen. I have learned to set them aside from the books and accept them as a sort of alternate universe version of the source material.
Pumpkin Spiced Latte – something you love that others tend to judge
Dramione! I am a huge Draco/Hermione shipper, and I am unapologetic about it. I am also prepared to convince anyone and everyone of how awesome a ship it is. Mind you, I do not ship Canon Draco with Canon Hermione. I ship the version of Draco that could have been. Redemption Draco, if you will. Thank you, fanfiction, for making my head canon possible.
Bonfire Night – what makes you explode with joy?
A book that can make me cry (I know this seems counter intuitive, but I just love books that are that good at making me feel feels). Brownies fresh out of the oven. Puppies.
Fright Night – favorite scary book or film
Halloween candy – favorite thing to eat
Brownies. Literally my favorite food. As far as actual candy goes, I’d say Snickers Almond for chocolate, Starburst for not.
Scarves – your autumn ‘must have’ accessory
Scarves! I have a huge collection of scarves, and those become a daily fashion choice the moment it gets cool outside.
Fire – a book that burns your soul
In a good way? Empire of Storms by SJM. I have so many fiery feels for that one.
In a bad way (aka, I will probably use this for a fire photoshoot someday)? The Book That Shall Not Be Named. You may know it by it’s proper name, The Cursed Child. If you ever want to hear me rant, just tell me how you love that book.
Toffee apples – a book that seems like one thing but really has a different inside.
I’d have to say the Illuminae Files? Yes, its def Sci-Fi on the outside AND the inside, but the formatting is totally out there (and I love that about it) and you do NOT expect a YA book to have quite so much murder and mayhem.
