Megan’s Wicked Readathon TBR

The FrayedBunny Wicked Readathon starts in just a few days and I figured now would be a great time to put together a TBR! Now, we all know that I am pretty much garbage at sticking to a TBR list, but I am really going to give this my best effort AND I am going to keep it limited to leave room for other stuff! I generally average about 12-15 books in a month, so I figure I will pick a handful for my TBR and that will keep me from flaking out! I am actually pretty pumped for this list, so lets check it out!

A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray

This is my number one most-recommended read! I absolutely adore this series, which I first read when this was a new release! It’s full of magic, strong women, and dark secrets. It has a very Gothic feel, thanks to taking place at a boarding school in 1895. Fans of The Infernal Devices will want to check this out, because the overall vibe is very similar, despite the completely different storylines.

Rebel Angels by Libba Bray

I am obviously going to reread this whole trilogy. Why stop at book one?

The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray

Why are the titles from this series so lyrical? I am already feeling anxious thinking about the ending of this book. Why do these authors just love to hurt us?!

The Diviners by Libba Bray

I was going to wait and reread this when The King of Crows comes out in February, but this series fits the readathon theme so well, so why the heck not! Taking place in 1926 New York City, this book follows Evie O’Neill, who possesses a secret supernatural ability! We get mystery, intrigue, danger, and paranormal activities! Perfect for a “wicked” read!

Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray

May as well keep going, right? I feel like I rushed through this when I first read it back in 2017 (wow…it’s been a while), so I will be excited to dive back in.

Before the Devil Breaks You by Libba Bray

Look! A book on my TBR that I haven’t actually read yet!!! Miracle of miracles! Hey, to be fair, I have been REALLY good this year about foregoing rereads in favor of my unread books mountain list, so I am cutting myself some slack here!

Wait…did I just…why yes, I AM picking all Libba Bray books. #sorrynotsorry. This was actually not the original plan. Hell, it wasn’t even the plan when I started drafting this post. But I got the first three books down, started to reminisce about how a character from the Gemma Doyle series has a very brief cameo in The Diviners series (I literally screeched out loud when I read it), and then was like…wait…The Diviners is ALSO the perfect series for this readathon. Libba Bray writes some awesome, Gothic, magical, creepy, Halloweeny awesomeness, so she’s really the perfect fit!
