As usual, I am behind on posting my unboxings, but hey, better late than never right? Right?! 0_0
Anyway, I am finally here to share the epic July Unicorn Crate Enchanted Objects box! This box was packed to the brim with awesome goodies, which should come as no surprise to anyone. Unicorn Crate has swiftly become one of my favorite boxes because of the high quality items and level of care put into curating them. Naomi is freaking awesome, and deserves all the love!! That being said, lets check out this awesome box!
Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim
The featured book for the Enchanted Objects box was Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim. I had previously read this as an ARC and loved it, so I was super excited to know it would be in this box! While Unicorn Crate doesn’t reveal their books ahead of time, I can usually figure it out based on the provided hints.
The book also came with a signed book plate AND an author letter!
Exclusive LOTR Headband
Ohemgee, I cannot tell you how much I adore this headband! I literally put it on immediately after unboxing it, wore it all day, and have cycled it into my regular wardrobe for frequent use! Seriously, I probably wear this at least several times a week, even if it’s just when I’m lounging around in my jammies at night. I have gotten so many compliments on it when I wear it out and about! I love wearing geeky things because it’s how you can find out who the coolest people are. 😉 Here is a photo of me rocking this epic headband in all it’s glory, plus a closer look at the gorgeous design!
The artwork on the fabric was by artist Alyona Shirokova.
Unicorn Library Stamp
Unicorn Crate includes a Unicorn item in every box (weird, I know…*wink*) and it’s always fun to see what creative thing Naomi will come up with! This month the item was a super adorable “From the Library of” stamp! Perfect for marking your books as your own, this baby will ensure everyone knows who’s book they have! Now I rarely lend out my physical books (I have been known to just buy someone their own copy if I want them to read something specific), but I think I just might need to go on a stamping spree of my shelves!
Circe Inspired Seed Kit
I’ll admit that I have yet to read Circe (I know, I know!) but getting this item inspired by them book definitely gives me a little incentive to push it up the ol’ TBR list!
Inside the box is a wee little plant pot and the seeds needed to grow some thyme! Now, I pretty much have a black thumb when it comes to plants. Couple that with the fact that we have no real indoor space to set plant pots that isn’t also accessible by my cats (one of whom looooves when we set out delicious plant treats for him *eye roll*), I rarely get to try my hand at growing things. However, one of my dear friends is a bit of an herb witch and I know she is going to love this little kit!
Genie’s Lamp Keychain
Alright, who here absolutely loves Disney’s Aladdin? *raises hand wildly*. Now who here has seen the new live-action remake?! *slowly lowers hand in shame*. I have been the worst kind of slacker when it comes to movies this summer. HOWEVER, its totally out on digital now, so that’ll happen soon. IN THE MEANTIME I will have this super cute genie’s lamp keychain to tide me over!
So another fun tidbit about me (besides my inability to see movies in a timely manner) is that I drive a super fun and adorable 1969 VW Bug Convertible around in the warmer months! When I first got him years ago I needed a keychain and ended up choosing a keychain with Dumbledore’s wand on it, the joke being that sometimes a car that old needs a little magic to go. So now this magic lamp has joined the magic wand on Diego’s (yes, the car’s name is Diego) key, because I will take all the magic I can get! 🙂
Little Mermaid Inspired Shell Necklace
There is no way we could have a box of enchanted items and NOT include the Shell Necklace from The Little Mermaid! I mean, Ursula proved herself a total villain when she used this baby to steal Ariel’s voice and then subsequently steal Prince Eric away. That bitch. ANYWAY. This necklace is sooo pretty and dainty and I want to wear it all the time! However, I also don’t really wear jewelry. Luckily for me, I have a bestie who’s life goal is to grow up to be a mermaid (she even owns a monofin), and she wears jewelry every single day! So I presented this to her as a gift, and she was thrilled! She has been rocking it regularly, even pairing it with her kickass mermaid scale leggings for an epic DisneyBound outfit.
Note: If you don’t know what DisneyBounding is, do yourself a favor and go search it on Pinterest right now! You’re welcome in advance. 🙂
Marauder’s Map Wallet/Phone Clutch
Be still my heart!!!! There are very few things I love more in this world than Harry Potter. I have an entire set of shelves in my library dedicated to HP, my car’s name is Sirius, my dog’s name is Luna, my only tattoo is HP themed, and I run a wand shop at a fully immersive Wizarding School in Massachusetts (New England Witchcraft and Wizarding School, or NEWWS for short!). So when I opened this month’s box and the first item was this AMAZING Marauder’s clutch, I made some very loud screeching noises and did a little happy dance. This wallet is absolutely stunning. The design is crisp and clear, and the wallet itself is very well made. You can rest assured that this has made it’s way into everyday use in my purse.
Alethiometer Sticker
This vinyl sticker is inspired by The Golden Compass series and features art by Hannah Hitchman. I have to admit that I have never read this series, nor have I seen the movie, but I do own a copy of The Amber Spyglass. Some day I will get around to reading it, once I can carve out some space on my neverending TBR. If we could just stop time for like a solid week or two, allowing me to binge a ton of books from my piles, that would be great! Just when I think I am making a dent, I find another dozen books I want to read! Maybe I’ll just retire from the workforce and read for a living.
Dark Crystal Shard
This next item excited me to no end!! Inspired by The Dark Crystal (omg the Netflix show!!) and individually handpicked by Naomi for this box, it is just the perfect little item. I would like to take this moment here to fully blame Naomi for my increasing immersion into becoming a witch. It started when she included a full tarot deck in the March Witchy Women box. That made me instantly NEED to learn tarot, which resulted in buy a whole bunch more tarot decks, finding a mini-coven of my own, and reading cards almost every day since. AND THEN she includes this beautiful crystal shard, which resulted in me NEEDING to get all sorts of crystals to help the energy of my tarot readings and to assist in cleansing my cards. So now I own so many tarot decks and all sorts of crystals in various shapes and sizes and types and also keep track of moon phases and go to my friend’s house on a weekly basis to see what the cards have to say. So thanks for that, Naomi. 😉
